Welcome to this Special Edition of Lets Get Working called How to Get and Keep a Job. This week we are looking at Assessing Yourself.
How many hours a day are you prepared to job seek for?
Treat it like a job. The hours you would spend at work, needs to be the hours you spend on looking for a job. If serious about getting a job, spend time on it. Being serious about looking for a job will hone your skills quicker.
Do you have a place designated to job searching?
A desk with a phone, pen, paper, envelopes and stamps and no distraction

It may then be of benefit to see what each job requires by looking at The Job Guide 2012 at www.jobguide.deewr.gov.au and clicking on 'Search the Job Guide' Get ideas from family and friends and ask for support.
List the job(s) you are looking for (4 or 5 career goals is a good idea).
What suburbs are you willing to work in (within walking distance or by using public transport if you donít have a car)?
Do you want to work part-time or full-time? (Best to be flexible here)
What is your stamina? How many days/hours can you work with your disability?
How will you get to work? Will you be using public transport, walking, etc?
